  1. Good for you Iyanla you are a beautiful intelligent woman God bless you stay strong be safe. Your white Canadien guy who loves to see strong sisters protect themselves, wish you the best, Robert.

  2. My mother was a survivor and she survived all kinds of trauma and went on to marry my father and raise 4 kids together. She told me and my sister, if someone is attacking you(assuming it's a man) grab him where it hurts and don't let go. That's the only way you'll make him feel pain and he will never mess with you again. I will always remember those words. Oh, and yes, the dick is what she was referring to. Grab it and put it in a vice grip. He'll learn.

  3. This story sounds oh so too familiar this is what led me to be in a relationship coach to this day I know that my life has a purpose and I give thanks because a lot of women may not have been so lucky/ blessed….

  4. As heroic as this may sounds, NEVER are we to brag about almost committing murder.. What she and any woman should do is LEAVE, LEAVE the relationship… It would be different if she stabbed him on his first offense, without thinking. But to continue to go back and forth is NOT what the Lord says we should do… We love these men more than we love God and this is idolatry, and when we idolize these me when then open a portal for satan to use us and destroy us…. However, we are to REPENT {sincere regret & remorse} for any harm we place upon people for the Lord was beating and tortured and not a sound did he make or did he fight back. Now if you claim to love Yeshua, follow Yeshua and trust Yeshua, THEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN YOUR LIFE IYANLA INSTEAD OF your husband, for under NO circumstances did the lord give you a right to kill or defend yourself… ALL you had to do is simply OBEY the lord by LEAVING!!!! Oan, You should repent for this action as well as for laughing about it years later….

  5. I've been in an abusive relationship before when I lived in Texas. Was stupid enough to leave home and move to Texas for a guy who ended up being a manipulative and controlling man. For so long I was passive and obedient until one day I snapped and told him I'm not scared of him anymore. Caused a big fight and HE is the one that called the cops. Told the cops I instigated the fight and he recorded my voice screaming at him the whole time. Cops took his side based on his recording and said if they get another call, I'm going to jail.

He left that night to stay at his moms house. I went to wal-mart, bought a suitcase. Came back, packed as much stuff in that suitcase as I could and hid in the bushes outside waiting for a taxi to take me to the airport to fly me back to Pennsylvania where I moved from and started my whole life over with nothing but some clothes and $20 in my bank account.

This was 4 years ago. I now have a career, my own home, and with a loving person that cherishes me as much as I him.

And all it took was courage. We all have it inside us. Whether we think we're strong or not.
